Alternative Courses

This workshop will help the massage therapist enhance the quality of care for clients who are taking certain prescription or over-the-counter medications. We will explore the basics of how different types of medications work on the body systems, the side effects and contraindications associated with these medicines, and how you can adapt and modify your massage strokes to better serve and meet your client’s goals for the session. Participants will come away with a better understanding of how massage can be applied sensibly and safely to those who are on medication.
