Heather Carpenter, Spouse of Robert Carpenter
US National Guard/ US Army 2002-2006
Robert Carpenter, a soldier in the 210th Engineering Detachment, NH National Guard, was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom
from January 2004 to March 2005.
He is married to Heather and is a father of three: two sons, 4 and 5 years old and a daughter who was born 4 months before he was deployed.
After returning from overseas, Robert came across a poster at the National Guard in Concord, NH
promoting Operation Healing Hands.
This is a free tuition Scholarship offered to the troops and their spouses
by North Eastern Institute of Whole Health, School of Massage Therapy, located in Manchester, NH.
"I thought immediately about my wife, her sacrifice and outstanding support, while I was deployed overseas. This is a great opportunity for Heather to concentrate on a health career and to become a Massage Therapist, without having to put the financial burden of education on our family" says Robert.
"With the generosity of North Eastern Institute of Whole, their support and help given to US veterans and their families, my wife will be able to accomplish her dream of becoming a Massage Therapist" Robert continued.
His wife is now a full time student and hopes to graduate in the fall of 2007.
